O MEU TRIBUTO A UM DOS MEUS CANTORES PREFERIDOS

Robert Palmer faleceu na passada 6ª feira, aos 54 anos, em Paris, vítima de um ataque cardíaco.

He was on a short break in the city with his partner, Mary Ambrose, after recording a TV show in London.

Duran Duran and UB40, with whom the singer worked, spoke of their sadness at his death.

Palmer formed The Power Station with Duran Duran members John Taylor and Andy Taylor in 1985, and had been a close friend of all the band for many years.

In a statement, the band said: “We are absolutely devastated to hear of Robert’s death.

“He was a very dear friend and a great artist. This is a tragic loss to the British music industry. Our thoughts and sympathies are with his family and his partner.”

The band last saw Palmer in July when they were both on promotional tours of Japan.

UB40 collaborated with Palmer in 1990 on the Top 10 hit I’ll Be Your Baby Tonight.

They said: “We are shocked and saddened by the news of Robert’s sudden death. Our condolences go to Mary and his family.”
